CBD Vape Juice vs. CBD Oil: Which is Better for Your Health?

As you may have realized at this point, the market for CBD is on the rise. Millions of people are enjoying the potential benefits of adding CBD to their daily routines, and many more are considering the possibilities. From the tiny seeds of cannabis plants cultivated millennia ago, an entire industry has sprung forth. It’s also branching out in numerous directions.

Because of that evolution, confusion abounds in the world of CBD. With so many variations of CBD now available and so many products on the market, understanding the benefits, disadvantages, and other points of each one is all but impossible. One of the main misunderstandings in the industry is the difference between CBD-infused vape juice and CBD oil. If you’re among the many who would like a bit more clarity on the finer points of these two popular hemp-derived product lines, read on to learn more.

Examining CBD Oil

First, let’s take a look at CBD oil. This is a broad category in its own right. In a nutshell, CBD oil is a carrier oil that’s blended with extracts from the cannabis plant. Essential oils can be extracted from plants using different methods. Some CBD extracts contain cannabidiol alone whereas others contain multiple compounds from the cannabis plant.

Previously mentioned carrier oils for CBD vary. Hemp seed, avocado, and olive oil are common choices. MCT, or medium-chain triglyceride, oil is also a popular option. These oils are used to dilute CBD extracts. In turn, that gives them greater bioavailability. It also helps to prevent CBD and other extracts from causing unpleasant side effects, such as irritation or stomach upset. All plant extracts can be harsh in their raw form, so they need to be mixed with carrier oils to tame them a bit.

Analyzing CBD Vape Juice

That brings us to CBD vape juice. Vape juice that’s infused with CBD isn’t the same as CBD oil alone. It contains CBD oil, but it’s also further diluted with other compounds. That makes it viable for the vaping process. Without those added ingredients, CBD oil would be too thick to vape, and it wouldn’t work with the components of vape pens and mods.

Is CBD Oil or Vape Juice Better for Your Health

Whether CBD oil or vape juice is better for your health is a multifaceted topic. On one hand, vaping CBD increases its bioavailability. Since it absorbs into the lungs and quickly enters the bloodstream, it doesn’t lose a great deal of its potency before delivering its effects. Vaping also provides faster access to the potential benefits of CBD. Of course, many people might argue that the practice of vaping itself poses certain health risks.

CBD oil is generally used as a tincture or mixed into topicals or edibles. As a tincture, its bioavailability is high. Topicals, though, only deliver isolated relief from certain types of pain. CBD-infused edibles provide long-lasting results, but CBD has to go through the digestive process before reaching the bloodstream. As such, much of its potency is lost along the way.
